Noelle Burg has made art her entire life. She attended the College of Creative Studies at the University of California Santa Barbara and did her graduate work in painting and art theory at California State University Fresno under Charles Gaines.
Noelle has developed her own style of making tiles and incorporating them into her Tuscan inspired mosaic pieces. She believes that the production of tiles is layered with so many components and methods that she can access the many layers of herself. Her masters thesis and graduation exhibition were based on the layers of the self... a result most likely of her studies of Deconstructionism. Noelle has had the good fortune of traveling in Italy several times and simply can not get enough.
Her work embodies many of the traditions of tile making and mosaic while incorporating her multilayered processes. Noelle resides in Montecito with her husband and two teenage children where she makes her own tiles and where everything in the house is suspect to being a new mosaic piece!
Her next planned adventure takes her back to her childhood favorite shelling spot in Florida as she prefers to use shells she has collected herself.
